The Echo Ridge Astronomical Society was organized in 1996 in Elk Creek, Virginia, by a small group of local amateur astronomers from the City of Galax, Carroll county - Grayson county areas of Southwest Virginia.OUR MISSION:To promote the Observation, Exploration and Investigation of our Universe.To promote education in Astronomy and related Sciences. | Meetings are held on the FIRST THURSDAY of each month at 7:00pm @ the WYTHE-GRAYSON REGIONAL LIBRARY in INDEPENDENCE, VIRGINIA and are open to the General Public.
We are an active member society of the ASTRONOMICAL LEAGUE and promote the activities of the INTERNATIONAL DARK SKY ASSOCIATION.
